New restrictions around tobacco use which come into effect on 22 September, will see WA have some of the toughest anti-smoking laws in the country.

With the aim of protecting children and adults from the harmful effects of passive smoking, the new laws ban smoking in cars carrying children under 17, within 10m of children’s outdoor playground equipment, in all outdoor eating areas of restaurants and cafes and between flags of patrolled beaches.

Tobacco product displays in retail outlets will also become a thing of the past under the new laws. Read more.
