This resource targets Stage 3 (Years 5-6) and Stage 4 (Years 7-8) and supports the NSW Personal Development, Health and Physical Education K-6 and Years 7-10 Syllabuses.
Smokescreen aims to provide young people with knowledge relating to the effects of smoking and the skills to advocate against smoking. It assists students to critically examine marketing strategies. Particular attention is given to product placement in movies / television and cigarette packaging used to recruit young people, especially females.
The resource includes activities addressing three themes.
Family activity sheets have been included in the resource to support and enhance learning in the classroom.
